Tales of a Pharmacy Technician

Here's a little bit of advice for all of you who fill prescriptions, or know someone who gets them filled, yada yada.

1.  When a technician tells you it will be 10-15 minutes until your prescription is ready, that means 10-15 minutes.  Don't walk slowly to the other counter and ask for your prescription.  Not only is it not ready, but now I am going to take my sweet a$$ time processing it and filling it just because you can't listen.

2.  If your Adderall prescription says "Do not fill until Friday", but you call on Wednesday saying you know what the prescription says, but want to know if we can fill it today, what do you expect us to say??

3.  Ask questions.  No question is stupid.  The pharmacist is being paid to answer questions about medications that may have serious side effects.

4.  Don't get mad at me if we gave you 30 pills, to last 30 days, and you didn't follow the instructions and now you are out, 11 days early.  And no, we don't believe that your cat pawed at your bottle and knocked them all down the vent.  It was believable the first time.  Now, not so much.

Trick or Treat?

66 kids this year.  Less than last year, but still a good number considering it was raining pretty good for most of the three hours for trick or treating.  I love seeing the adults dressed up, taking the kids around.  I am all for giving the parents candy, or even the teenagers who dress up, candy as well.  The least amount of effort this year?  The 10  year old kid who had jeans, a sweatshirt and a baseball cap on with a taped Dominos logo.  We are guessing he was a pizza delivery guy, but who knows.

Bonus of this year?  Candy left over!  Mmmmmm chocolate!

Happy Halloween!

Tomorrow it's trick or treating time!  I'm such a kid at heart.  I love to see all the kids come up to get candy, and if an adult comes dressed up, you bet they get candy too!  I really like the little kids (toddler age) who I offer the bowl of candy to, and they carefully select one little piece of candy.  I usually tell them they can take more, and it's amazing to see their eyes light up!  We got our cats costumes as well--yes, we are THOSE kind of people!  :)  Rita is going as a Sheriff and Candice is going as a Bumble Bee.  I will post pictures tomorrow, otherwise they won't be too happy with me for making them dress up right now, as they are sleeping!

Now my goal is to keep H from sneaking candy out of the candy bowl......the Butterfingers seem to be disappearing......

Pottermore....You Stink!

I love the fact that Pottermore sent me my username.  However, it won't register my password.  So, I requested that a new one be sent to me.  They said it would be sent in a few minutes, and I have now been waiting over 20 minutes.  Lame, Pottermore.  Lame.

Holy Smoke Batman!

7:45.  I'm awake, and I see our renter (we own a duplex, and live in one side of it) running to our door with her 2 year old in her arms.  I open the door and she tells me there is smoke in her basement, to grab our cats and get out of the house.  2 police cars, 2 fire department SUVs, 3 firetrucks and an ambulance later, we find out that it is a recalled flourescent bulb that burned out and started smoking.

What a bunch of chaos for something so little!  (But I am glad that it wasn't worse!)

Here Goes Nothing!

My first ever blog post.  Kind of intimidating, kind of exciting.  A bunch of girls on a website called theknot.com gave me the bug to start blogging.  And here I am.  I decided to name the blog "Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces" (the title of a Seether album) because I find it contradicting yet so true at the same time.  Although I am not quite sure what the basis of this blog will be just yet, but I'm sure I will find my niche eventually!
