Tales of a Pharmacy Technician

Here's a little bit of advice for all of you who fill prescriptions, or know someone who gets them filled, yada yada.

1.  When a technician tells you it will be 10-15 minutes until your prescription is ready, that means 10-15 minutes.  Don't walk slowly to the other counter and ask for your prescription.  Not only is it not ready, but now I am going to take my sweet a$$ time processing it and filling it just because you can't listen.

2.  If your Adderall prescription says "Do not fill until Friday", but you call on Wednesday saying you know what the prescription says, but want to know if we can fill it today, what do you expect us to say??

3.  Ask questions.  No question is stupid.  The pharmacist is being paid to answer questions about medications that may have serious side effects.

4.  Don't get mad at me if we gave you 30 pills, to last 30 days, and you didn't follow the instructions and now you are out, 11 days early.  And no, we don't believe that your cat pawed at your bottle and knocked them all down the vent.  It was believable the first time.  Now, not so much.
